The DSSE is contracted by ICL to the DTI funded Eureka OPERA project. The project as a whole involves developing a prototype production environment known as ToolPark. ToolPark consists of a set of common services and a number of project management tools built on ISO PCTE. ToolPark is object oriented. Tools and services are built from a set of generic reusable objects which communicate through a message passing service. Information about the structure of the tools and services is stored in the PCTE Object Base and the provision of a number of code generators makes it relatively easy to construct new tools either from scratch or by reusing the existing set of components.
